Whew! What a whirlwind the past few months have been! Seriously, my head is spinning. 

So many major changes and wonderful opportunities are happening in the life of Kim Hoegger HOME. I am trying to keep you updated via the blog so stay tuned for more exicting news and happenings.

Today, I wanted to update you on the progress at our little Guesthouse in Osage Beach. It is coming along beautifully even on a skinny budget :)

Since we talked last about the Guesthouse, much has changed. Floors have been striped and refinished with a stunning Minwax Weathered Oak...amazing! And yes, you can get it at Home Depot! That's the plan here remember lol. 

I dont have a good pic of that yet because the floors are still covered up but I will do the big reveal soon so stay tuned for that!

Here's a small peek...you cant really see the beautiful gray streaks in this pic but it is amazing, trust me!

That color on the walls is Sherwin Williams Gratifying Green. I would give you the number but I am at the airport awaiting my flight home and done have that with me. It's a wonderfully fun, cool, clean color. Just perfect for this little guestroom. 

I went out on a limb with the colors in the Guesthouse. Rather than paint everything white like I did in the main house, I painted every wall a soft pastel color. Everyroom feels clean and cool...perfect for 90 degree days on the lake. Here's a peek at the colors...

Gratifying Green...Pure White on the trim(my favorite white). Thinking about this quilt...love, love, love!

 

Below is the stairwell painted in SW Waterscape with Pure White on the trim. Loving the last minute beadboard detail we added to spice up the staircase.  

Take a look at this!!! My hubby had a really cool wave material left over from a previous job and offered it for the front of the kitchen island. I was going to do beadboard but the wave turned out great!! LOVE IT!

Paint on the island wave is SW Raindrop(I believe, need to verify is someone is really interested in using the color, shoot me an email)

Below is a closeup of the kitchen backsplash. An adorable, fresh selection from Lowe's. Email me for specifics please(remember I am at the airport, lol)

Below is the dining room table fixture. Isnt it fun! I ordered this online at West Elm, great price of only $109, love a good clearance sale!

This is a Lowe's fixture that I loved for the Staircase area but didnt want the black. Painted it SW Pure White, now I love it!

This is the downstairs Master Bedroom painted in SW Butter Up, a really cheery color that I chose because of the location of this room. It is a basement room which tended to be dark so the brightness of this color will balance the room. This is not a color I would have chosen for the upper floors of the Guesthouse. It would have appeared almost neon and overpowered everything else. The bright, cheery yellow lightens and brightens the basement area nicely, although my job foreman is still doubting that I can pull this room together, haha. Exercise caution you when choosing and using yellow. Choosing the right yellow for a room can be tricky. Dont hesitate to call me to discuss yellows. It's better to ask than to have to repaint :)

Ok, so that's it for now. Lots of work going on there this week and they should be ready for me to start moving in the furniture next week!! So exciting! Still have to select some wallpaper and a few last minute things so I better get busy!
